Lists
Lists hold things you want to find again without immediately turning them into appointments or todos. Common examples include shopping, packing, admin, ideas and recurring preparation.
Checklist or numbered list?
A checklist is useful when individual entries can be completed. A numbered list shows an order without treating every line as a completed task.
In the web app, lists can also be organised with categories. The native app presents lists and entries in a simpler mobile view.
List or todo?
A todo has its own completion point and can appear in your day. A list is a collection that remains available.
- Todo: “Pack suitcase today”
- List: “Weekend packing list”
They can work together. Link the packing list to the todo, appointment or routine step where you need it.
Keep lists easy to find
Give each list a name you will recognise later. Instead of one large “Everything” list, a few clear places such as “Shopping”, “Out and about” and “Admin” are often easier to scan.
Lists and checklists are also available on Apple Watch in a compact form. See Apple Watch for details.
