Todos
A todo is a concrete task with a completion point. It can stay in the inbox first or receive a date and time immediately.
Areas in the todo overview
| Area | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Inbox | Not scheduled yet |
| Scheduled | Has a date or time |
| Recurring | Repeats daily or weekly |
| Done | Completed but still available in history |
A todo without a date does not fill today's calendar. Schedule it later when you know where it realistically fits.
Date and time
- No date: The todo stays in the inbox.
- Date without a time: It appears as an anytime todo on that day.
- Date and time: It receives a fixed place in the calendar.
Recurring todos
Use daily or weekly recurrence for tasks that repeatedly have their own completion point. A routine is usually a better fit for a stable group of steps.
Todo, list or appointment?
- Todo: “Pay invoice”
- List: “Missing documents”
- Appointment: “Advice call on Thursday at 10:00”
A todo can link to a list when the task needs supporting items.
If the overview becomes too full, schedule only a few tasks. Other todos can remain in the inbox until you deliberately give them a place.
Duration and subtasks
You can set a duration in whole minutes and up to 100 subtasks on one level. Add, edit, remove and reorder them in the editor. For a timed todo, the calendar uses its duration; without one, the existing calendar presentation remains.
Check subtasks separately in the todo view. Even when every subtask is checked, complete the main todo yourself. Reopening it preserves the subtasks. Each new recurrence starts with open subtasks. Subtasks do not add Formys or main-todo completions.
