Before you leave: put the essentials in one place

At the door, then back inside for the missing paperwork? Write down what this particular trip needs. This list covers leaving home; it does not need to include your whole morning routine.

My before-leaving checklist

Where and when?

Plan this trip, rather than the entire day.

What needs to come with me?

Separate essentials from optional extras.

Final check and arrangements

Check only what actually matters today.

How to use the worksheet

Make this a short list of your own

Fill it in for one trip

Start with the destination. Work, exercise and appointments need different things. Write down where each essential item is.

Work backwards from leaving

Enter when you actually need to leave, allowing for travel and a suitable buffer. This is a plan, not an automatic alarm.

Short version: destination, keys, essentials

When time is limited, keep the destination, access keys and items you cannot make this trip without. Keep any necessary safety checks and arrangements.

Adjust for your next departure

Remove extras you did not need. Copy or print the completed list and place it somewhere you pass on your way out.

A completed example

Example: taking paperwork to the office

Destination and reason
Office; bring the signed agreement today.
Departure time and journey
Leave at 8:10; bus at 8:20.
Essential items
Keys on the hook, travel card in my wallet, agreement in my bag.
Extras for today
Rain jacket; the book can stay at home.
Final check or arrangement
Close the study window; pickup is agreed with Alex.
If time runs short
Tell Alex I am late; check the next bus rather than rushing.

Common questions

Is this a complete safety or travel checklist?

No. It is for an everyday departure. Add the safety checks your home and circumstances require. Travel, caring responsibilities or special requirements need a more detailed list of their own.

Do I need to fill in every field?

No. Leave irrelevant fields blank and use the short version in the guide. Example text is a placeholder; enter your own text before copying or printing.

Are my entries saved?

Entries stay only in the open page. Copy or print them before closing or reloading it. There is no automatic saving or connection to your MeinSystem account.

Can I use this without an account or keep a PDF?

Yes. Fill in the fields without signing in and copy the text. “Print” opens your browser’s print dialog; choose “Save as PDF” if available. “Clear” removes all entries.
